Photoshop
Contrast
Contrast is a very popular photography effect that you may have seen several times. The photo is often black and white, except for an object in the image that is designed to stand out in colour. Flowers are often used when using contrast. I took a picture I took and and made a "contrast photo" using Photoshop. The flower clearly is the object that is created to catch the viewer's eye.

Cloning |
This picture was assigned to me. I had to take the dad out of the picture and make it look like the boy could swing/ hold the bat all by himself. This picture was very hard to clone because it is very detailed. I had to work with fingers and the grass was very hard to make realistic. I'm disappointed with how the grass turned out; it looks too fake.

This is the picture I chose to clone. The box in the background really distracted me, so I decided to clone it by making it blend with the pile of snow. I really like how the after picture turned out. It is so much more effective and draws your eyes to the bird rather than the box (in the before picture).
Spot-Healing Tool
Using the spot-healing tool, I got rid of the chicken pox's on this baby's face. I had difficulty removing the chicken pox on the baby's mouth and the one on the left eye. I overcame my challenge by zooming in, using a smaller brush and slowly took my time.
I can also use the spot healing tool to remove other things, such as pimples, scars, tattoos, freckles, etc. This is a technique lots of Photoshop editors use on celebrities to remove their "flaws" to put on magazine, pictures and even in videos.

Combining Pictures
Using Photoshop, I took two pictures and combined them into one. I found it hard to be creative because I wanted the image to look real. I took the giraffes and placed them onto this background picture, using the marquee select tool. I hope that it looks realistic to the viewers and that the giraffes look like they are actually in the photo.

Making a Black & White photo Colour
|
This is an old black and white photo I took and learned how to make it colour. I am very disappointed with the outcome. I dislike the skin colour and the way the table cloth turned out. I also think that it looks really fake. I am going to try a new picture and hopefully be pleased with the outcome.

Continuous Shots
For this assignment I had to do about four continuous action shots and combine them into one photo. The original photo is the last one where Victoria is kicking the soccer ball. I faced lots of difficulties while doing this assignment. The first difficulty was trying to think of something really cool and creative to do. I was spending too long on that stage so I just decided to go with something simple to get the assignment over with. When I went to take some photos, the Nikon camera battery went dead. I had to use my own camera, which isn't the best quality. The first ten times I tried I didn't get the photos straight and I didn't get what I wanted. If i had the chance to do a better job on this assignment, I would go to the airport and take a continuous shot of an air plane taking off.
Meet the Multimedia Class Assignment
For this assignment I had to find at least two pictures. The first one had to be a picture of myself. The other was a picture I wanted to add myself to. I found this assignment very difficult. I had trouble finding a picture to add my face to, taking pictures of myself and getting it to fit the picture I originally wanted to do was hard. It was hard because the original picture I was going to add my face to looked sort of cartoon and I could not get my face to look like it fit with the picture. I gave up on that and I remember a book I loved when I was in grade 7. I always thought the girl on the cover looked somewhat like me. I decided to try and add my face to the book cover. It worked out better than the first photo I tried, but I still faced difficulties. I had trouble getting the hair to make my face look real. I tried cloning, but it didn't make it much better. I think that if I had more time and was more patient, I could have done a better job.
